CAF has locked in a packed calendar for 2026-27, spreading its flagship and development competitions across five nations while keeping AFCON 2027 on track for East Africa.
South Africa gets the headline clash
The biggest immediate draw is the Super Cup in Tshwane on 8 November 2026. Mamelodi Sundowns will face USM Alger in the one-off showdown, with kick-off set for 15:00 local time.
CAF confirmed the fixture will bring together the Champions League and Confederation Cup winners. For South African fans, this is a mouth-watering contest. Sundowns already know the stage, and USM Alger bring the edge of a continental cup holder.
Ghana, Egypt, Morocco and Senegal share the rest
CAF has spread its youth and specialist competitions across four more nations. Ghana will host the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in February and March 2027.
Morocco gets the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations in April and May 2027. It will also stage the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations from 12 to 21 October 2026.
Egypt will host the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament that doubles as qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Senegal will stage the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in November 2026.
AFCON 2027 road map is clear
CAF has fixed the dates for AFCON 2027, with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda hosting the finals from 19 June to 17 July 2027. Qualification begins in September 2026, giving national teams a clear runway to prepare for the expanded tournament.
CAF says the stable schedule helps member associations, broadcasters, sponsors and supporters plan better. It also strengthens youth pathways across the continent.
